Yeah, so... why does the picture on the front page of Gravity's page feature a character with wings growing out of his armpits?
If the picture fails to load, I can send you a copy.
...by the way, I used to not know this - did you know you can take a screenshot of your desktop in Windows by pressing PrintScn? It will copy the image to the clipboard, and you can then paste it into paint to save it as a bitmap. Very useful. Pressing ALT + PrintScn will copy the active window. I know this works for Windows XP, but I'm a little fuzzy on early editions. Trying probably won't hurt too much.
I'm feeling a little more tolerant of Mephisto right now. The scene which caused me so much distress (despite being relatively mild in length and descriptiveness) is now over, and the story is picking up again. I'm also reading faster.
Feeling a bit of a craving to see a couple of foreign films - namely, "Shall We Dance" and "Battle Royale". Yes, I know the conversion of those two stories is disturbing. But you have to admit, tossing a whole bunch of bored businessmen on an island with collars around their neck that will kill them unless they participate in a dancing competition TO THE DEATH!... might be an entertaining story.
Still no luck in finding Black Matrix Zero or Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm considering calling up NCSX and special ordering them. They're probably too old for most import sites to carry them without request.
Nearly threw my controller through the screen playing Fable. Whoever invented the Nymph monster should be shot and killed... or... actually, no, that's too nice. Their hands should be locked to the controller and they should be forced to fight them from now until eternity. Mwah-hah-hah. And stuff.
I'm beginning to wonder if I've just entirely lost my ability - or perhaps my will - to write. It's a depressing thought.
From personal experience -- you can't lose the ability to write barring brain damage, and while the will sometimes goes it'll come back eventually, when conditions are better. Not something to get stressed out over. =)
Blame the illustration on the RO semi-official artist.
As for the games, write them an email - NCS usually responds within the same day if you do it on a business day before 4 pm EST. They are god :P
How is Fable? I hear strange things about it.
It kind of depends on the sort of game you like to play. It's extremely freeform. Currently my character is Well-Known (the fourth level of six or seven levels of reknown), and fairly far on the good side. He specializes in taking hits and using magic.
I'm kind of frustrated, because I don't have the reflexes for action games. It's hard to switch targets, avoid getting hit, keep hitting the enemy, and focus enough on magic that I'm levelling the way I want. But, I can play the game for hours and not realize the time is going away. It reminds me of RO like that.
Just because it's freeform doesn't mean that you can do anything, though. There's a linear quest, and certain areas won't open until you've gotten to the point in the main quest where you need to go to that area. I like this, because it doesn't have the problem of Daggerfall, where you go off gleefully doing stuff until you get bored of the game, then don't even think of going back to continue the plot.
Overall? I like it. It's good. The plot is a little cliche, but the voice acting is tolerable (British), the game has a sense of humor, and it's fun.
