Why me? [Aug. 9th, 2004|05:05 pm]

Special searched. Again. This is the third time, the fourth if you count the search in Japan, which I only just realized might have been one.

When I acted irritable, the lady from the TSA told me it was the airlines that chose who would be searched and 'it has to do with the way you buy your ticket.' Maybe I should quit using Expedia?

But I got searched on a business trip too, though that could have been an outlier. Anyways, give me a break!

For some really irritating reason, if you purchase your ticket through an online discount provider (expedia, orbitz, etc.) they will flag you for a special search. Especially if you purchase the ticket as a one-way.

They did that to me every time I flew home from college. The worst was right after the shoe bomber. I wear my steel-toes when I travel, instead of packing them. I had to be scanned an take my shoes off 6 times on that one trip, because they kept setting off the metal detectors.

A new dulles airline I've fallen in love with offers internet checkin up to a day ahead, which is neat, but I've heard also flags you.

Maybe there's something more perverted and sinister at work. I mean, you are a cute girl...
