I somehow doubt this would be of interest to most of y'all, but...

I've taken up playing Howrse. It's basically a horse management sim. There's plenty of problems with it (like the first ten days being a hell of fuming impotence, waiting until you've unlocked the ability to do anything but raise one freaking horse), but it's also vaguely entertaining.

If you try it, feel free to use this link, as I get bonuses from it: http://www.howrse.com/?parrain=siliconrose

Here's a tip: if you do decide to try it, and you want any chance of caring for more than one horse before your tenth day, you can elect to adopt a mare. The problem with that is that breeding a mare before training her and winning several competitions (something likely to take more than 10 real days) is not going to result in a high quality foal. Also, you need around 800 equus to a) have your mare covered (min 200e) and b) hire a vet for the birth (500e-600e, depending on the place she's boarded).

Might just be better to chew on patience until you get to 10 days and unlock the horse trading options.

I've never quite gotten the thing with sims. I joined a couple here and there but always ended up quiting because I couldn't figure most of it out. *sigh* Simple-minded human, that's me. I end up playing Mah Jong or something instead. :/

Sometimes I wonder if I get tired of them quickly because I read EVERYTHING on them. I'm never the first, so the tools for beating the system are almost always generally available.

I thought about this most of the day since I dropped in to chat, and think I figured it out. I think I lose interest and walk away because I've always loved life in and of itself, so why simulate it. Make sense? ;)
