So, character-wise, for the upcoming D&D game, I've switched from being a human bard to a Nothrog bard. In this world, most of the races are different - elves only live for 30 years and are almost universally necromancers, for example - and Nothrog are basically all the green races (orc, goblin, etc) all rolled up together. They're a military society, so a special ability of their bards is to use a fighter class' BAB. I'm going to be avoiding most magical feats (except for Silent Spell) and sticking mainly to fighter feats and utility spells which I won't cast in combat. The plan of action for a mid-difficult battle is 1) start singing, 2) stop singing (song effects last for the next five rounds), 3) start beating on things.

Lost Odyssey continues to be engrossing. I had a premonition of "uh-oh", and unsurprisingly, it turned out to be correct. Unfortunately, I'm now really worried about spoiling genedefect if he happens to catch a glimpse of the screen during a story portion.

Hmm... been polishing up my music collection a wee bit, adding in a couple of songs from Rock Band ("The Hand That Feeds", Nine Inch Nails, and "Welcome Home", Coheed and Cambria), as well as a smattering of songs from old favorites like Nightwish. I also downloaded another song which I feel mildly guilty about liking, which is My Chemical Romance's song "Teenagers". For an example of the lyrics, the chorus begins: "Teenagers scare the living shit out of me / they could care less as long as someone'll bleed". Cheery, huh?

In other news, I'm writing again. Not a lot, but words, keyboard, digital paper, the whole deal.

And in further news, Diane Duane has a blog and reads Fandom Wank. That loud snapping sound you heard earlier in the day was my brain.
