My playlist consists of (English artists only for now):
Faith and the Muse
Fall Out Boy
Icon of Coil
London After Midnight
Razed in Black
Sisters of Mercy
I'm currently missing:
Sting/and the Police
Given this, any suggestions?
Well... I've heard of some of the people on that list, but the only one of them that I actually have any music from is Enya.
However, I've seen several of them in truebluejay
's CD binder while riding in her car. I shall ask her if she has any suggestions.
's message follows:
Just a thought--
Coheed and Cambria (I've never heard Avenged Sevenfold, but I think they did a tour together. I've heard the two together in one sentence somewhere. Also, I recommend listening to "A Favor House Atlantic," "Blood Red Summer," or "Time Consumer" first. It's a different kind of sound, and if I hadn't heard those songs first, I probably wouldn't like them at all.)
Blue October (I like nearly everything I've heard. Huge variety of sounds--from country-ish to rock to dance to whatever. She's probably heard "Hate Me" which is a good song, and possibly "Into the Ocean" which I can't stand. Both those songs got radio play, espectially "Hate Me." KIRSTEN liked that one. Do warn her, though--the lead singer writes pretty intense stuff. He spent years in and out of psych wards, and he draws a lot of his ideas from that. She might appreciate that, it might turn her off, I don't know.
Also, Thursday (my favorite songs are "Cross Out the Eyes" and "Asleep in the Chapel". The rest that I've heard are "eh" but she might like them.)
She might hate them all, but it's worth a shot.
Nightwish. Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Masterplan. Bad Religion, maybe.
What, no Rasputina?? huh. ;)
That's a good group of sounds to combine and enjoy. me likes the list.
*sigh* Every time I think I've got a vague idea of what popular music is, the reality of it confronts me again.... I can't recognize most of those (or I've only ever heard one of their songs, as with Information Society-- though it's a good song), so I can't help you...
Wait a minute, you're a Maiden fan too?
Death In June
Eddie "Flashin'" Fowlkes
Type O Negative
For hard rock/heavy metal I recommend
Guns n' Roses
For general rock and pop you should check out
Radiohead (particularly the first two albums)
Also, if you're OK with not comprehending the lyrics, I've got a ton of Russian CDs to lend you ^^
