Finished Deathly Hollows. The beginning? I think it was both too fast and too slow -- character introductions and backdrop seemed rushed, and then there was a long tread for a few hundred pages. The ending? Rushed and confusing, but overall, good.
I'm not disappointed.
...now, on to furthering my quest to be the next J. K. Rowling. ^^
Though, seriously, with the types of stories I write, I doubt they'd have that sort of popular appeal. Still, something to aim for. ^^ That said, I know what really matters is writing the kinds of stories I like and having them appreciated by people who share that opinion, not how many copies I sell. I'm not trying to make a living off of this. I can hear the voices now: "web scab! web scab!"
Ah, and the wank regarding the book is more muted than I had expected, but strangely, more amusing. Most people don't even seem to have concrete reasons why they didn't like it. It was 'bad writing', 'wasn't what they were expecting', 'disappointing', and frequently 'I/all the fanficcers could have done better!'
Looking forward to reading your perfect 750 page end to an epic of mass appeal,
