I have a few problems with karate.
In sparring, I actually hit people. Hard.
I try to aim for above the belt, but sometimes I miss. (I'm out of shape, mainly in terms of stretching. Getting a good roundhouse off above my belt HURTS. I don't meet many people whose belt is lower than my belt. The only kicks I can do above the belt easily are the back kick and the front kick.)
When I don't have my glasses on, my aim gets worse.
I feel the back is a perfectly acceptable target when sparring. (What do you mean 'there are no vital spots on the back'? If I kick you just around the waist from the back, I'll nail your damn kidneys. See how that feels.)
I don't think it's fair that a black belt nailed me in the chin.
