God, I hate companies that insist on not letting you install and run programs on higher level operating systems. Really. Frequently, given some time and effort, with the amount I know about how the operating system works and how installers work, I REALLY CAN get it working on my system. Just let me. Don't be cute. Don't go out of your way to work around compatibility mode to outguess me. If it breaks, I'm not going to call your support line and whine at you. Okay?

EDIT:
And where were you when accessibility was designed? If I can't install you without using the mouse, if your dialog doesn't respond to keyboard commands, WTF were you thinking?!

Stop with the logic making, damn it. Here I am feeling all superior, and you have to come along and ruin it with facts. ^^

Want to hear the funny part? Enterprising people online already figured out how to make it work. Well, though now they've now fixed it formally, so if you can intuit that the answer to "I can't run on your current operating system" is found by going to their website and downloading the Vista-version of one of their components, you're groovy. I don't know how they missed the "this program has known incompatibility issues with Vista, please see the manufacturer's site for updates" boat. Everyone else who's installed by any number of people has it, and I know for a fact this particular program is not small enough to come in under the radar.

Someday, I will get my hands on a time machine, and I will go back and prevent the mouse.

It's really useful when used correctly.
