After playing Super Robot Wars Alpha 2, I can't stand to hear the Blue Danube any longer. You see, there's a boss in the game who hijacks the map theme, and I think it might even override the in-battle music for the characters -- I'm not sure about that, but I know that it does completely override the map theme, and because of hearing it play over and over and over, the Blue Danube now makes me clench my teeth. I mention this now because I have the soundtrack for the game, and that song came on, and while I tried to bear it, I eventually had to skip to the next song in the playlist.

I lost another battle in Spectral Force 3, then managed to squeak out a victory on my second attempt. I don't know whether I'm completely incompetent at the game or whether it's just genuinely difficult.

Um, lessee. Aside from that, still trying to get my head around the architecture for the UI in the game. I've got a general idea, but I'm still not entirely sure how it should work in certain cases, which container classes to use/write, should this widget be part of that class or should it be independent, etc., etc..

Alas, not so mind-breaky as some, but:

Holy Grail, Fate Stay/Night
Kindan no Pensee, Silent Mobius
Superman, Five for Fighting
Invisible Rose, Shoujo Kakumei Utena
Pain the Universe, Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana
The 13th Dilemma, Kingdom Hearts II
Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Sarah McLachlan
The Blue Danube, Johann Strauss the Younger
Shiawase no Ondo, angela
The 13th Struggle, Kingdom Hearts II

Curse you, Stanley Kubrick, for making the Blue Danube Waltz the Official Song of Zero Gee. Every time I hear it, I see velcro-slippered flying stewardesses.

Which, sadly, is nowhere near as kinky as it sounds, because their uniforms are a horrible pastel pink (sometimes I wonder if there was something in the water in the 70s that turned everyone colorblind).

Thinking about it, that's probably why they chose it. But glarg, there's only so long you can hear it before you want to kill something.

Which game is this, now?

Ah, I see. Your possession of skills actually useful to such an endeavor fills me with envy and rage. =P

You have skills useful to such an endeavor, definitely in the case of an RPG. You're a writer, aren't you? Do scenario and script writing. ^^ If you construct your own team, you actually have a chance to do things like that.

I'm sort of doing both writing and programming, actually. I've never done script writing before, but I'm sure I can muddle through somehow. Our first game isn't going to have too much going for it writing-wise, but...

Have you re-read the game programming gems books? Those tended to have bunches of little small articles that are helpful if you enjoy that type of programming. (enough so that I ended up buying six books, and three of the AI wisdom books...)

I'll try that! Though, I've never read them in the first place. ^^
