I finished Blue Dragon. While some parts suddenly got complicated, overall the end game was extremely satisfying.

I think I've done nearly all the end content as well, though I missed part of the final dungeon. -_-;; Not critical, but it caught me short of getting one of the easy higher-level achievements.

Blue Dragon

So, overall, how playable is it by the "stop and translate" crowd? Can most dialog be paused, just not cutscenes?

Re: Blue Dragon

All of the game explanation and dialog pretty much only continues after pressing the A button. There are a few minigames where the explanation is on the screen, and if you don't understand their creative use of the button templates it may be a little confusing. This is rare. The cutscenes are the biggest frustration - they're VERY frequent, and as far as I can tell there's no way to pause them outside of pulling out the Dashboard blade, which obscures almost half the screen. This can be good for "I need to look up that word!" and since there's furigana on all of the kanji you probably wouldn't have to consult back and forth between kanji and dictionary too much, but overall it's not a good experience from that perspective. I understood most of it, outside of some of Zora's dialog during cutscenes - unlike the other main characters, she gets all metaphysical sometimes, and I had some trouble parsing her sentences. The rest of them are pretty simple. ^^
