Two days into NaNo, and I've got 6,700-odd words. (But tigerphoenix is making me feel inadequate. ;_;)

I switched around scene 4 and 5, figuring that going from 'moderately wounded in the last scene' to 'absolutely fine and dandy and going off to get wounded again,' was perhaps a bit of an abrupt transition. (The Now) Scene 4 is going in a bit of an unexpected direction, but thankfully Christine sounds cold instead of whiny, which is EXACTLY what she should be sounding like.

Had a pleasant surprise yesterday when I hooked my iPod up again. Before going on vacation, I had located all of my music and finally imported it into a new iTunes library, and managed to sync almost all of it down to my iPod. Yesterday, on my way home, I hooked my iPod into my car stereo system and was gifted with "The World I Know", "君色思い" (Kimi Iro Omoi, or Thoughts Colored With You), and "Komm Susser Todd," none of which I had heard in ages.

NaNo!

Congrats!

And, yeah, I saw tigerphoenix on your profile page, and yeah, she's scary. Then again, you're basically a full day ahead of me, too.

I read your excerpt. It was good.

It's the best parts of two scenes with the two main characters - I think overall, the quality of the writing is much lower. ^^;;

Good god, don't let me intimidate either of you! I swear...

It's peer pressure. I have two friends other than siliconrose writing (ehzoterik and dakku, respectively), and THOSE two are helping me make the disgusting word totals you see.

Ehz actually told me I needed to make 10k words before midnight on the 2nd, I just accepted the challenge. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is GOOD, I just made ten thousand words.

It's okay. I'm just off in a corner, crying. ^^ (Joking.)

I keep trying to take a day off, and my muse comes, finds me, drags me out of my corner by my ear, and sits me down at the computer.

Then she cracks the whip over my head until, teary-eyed, I start writing.

It's all her fault, I swear! XD

^^ It's probably best to keep writing anyways. I have a strict no-days-off, 2,000-words-a-day policy, regardless of how far I am ahead.

I'm probably going to have a couple forced days off, anyway. If I go to visit dragonoflife, I can write there, as I did that last year, but when my dad comes to visit, I imagine I'll be lucky if I write 1,000 words a day. I figure it's best to get the buffer in now, in case I'm forced to slack later.

Yeah. The strict no-days-off is to make sure I write every day where it's physically possible for me to do so, so when there is a day where I really can't write, I don't have to worry about it. The main idea is that I don't slack off based on perceived 'aheadness.'

I guess I'm following your policy, and I didn't even know I was. XD

I still wonder where I'm going to end up, with all this.

You mean story-wise? Just writing as it comes?

Well, I do that anyway. I've found one of my characters yanking my attention from what I was doing, and saying, "Guess what! I'm gonna have a bigger part in this story than you expected!" Much to my surprise. But he works, at least.

I meant with the "no-days-off" policy, though. I write when I can and how much I can, and then if I have days where I can't (like when Dad is around), hopefully I won't have to worry about finishing.

Congrats on reaching 10k, by the way! XD

Thanks! I got to my quota, but I wasn't finished with the scene, so I kept writing, and then I extended it a bit more to crest 10,000. I'm happy. That extra 500 words may be good.
