I'm really disappointed.
I love the video Crash Different, mainly because the person who made it had a hysterical sense of humor and some of the criticisms were spot on with regards to my experience. So, I was in the mood to watch it again today, but didn't have a link available, so I searched for it on Google video. Right next to it was this video: Why Pc's suck. I try to be an equal opportunity offender, so I checked it out.
1) When you're creating a counterpoint to a humorous criticism, you should probably endeavor to be humorous. Otherwise you're preaching to the choir. It appeared that you were trying to be sardonic, but it just wasn't funny.
2) Some of your criticisms missed the point entirely, specifically the one about deleting a file. He said that if he deletes a file, it is gone. You then proceed to explain how he could use the undo option to fix a rename or a move. That's not a delete. It may work for deletes, but you didn't show that. Don't assume you're speaking to Mac people. They already know that Crash Different is wrong, or are ignorant of how to alleviate the issues - then you should actually show them how to fix it, not show them something related and claim it fixes their problem.
3) It looks like you're the one who authored the video, and put it up on Google video. (I'm basing my assumption on the fact that the video was designed as a rebuttal, and specifically references the Google video link to Crash Different.) If that's the case, then why did you title it "Why Pc's suck?" It's not about why PCs suck. It's about why Crash Different was an unrealistic portrayal of the Mac OS capabilities.
4) Please. Spell check. Please. Grammar. Ow.
Look, I would have been happier if you'd done a video full of blue screens happening when you did something entirely innocuous. I might have gone into a frenzy of 'but it's gotten so much better', but that was what I was expecting, and I was prepared for that. I went in there understanding there was a possibility I would be offended, but I also expected to laugh. You weren't funny, you weren't really educational - in short, I don't know what you wanted to do by creating that video, but you didn't succeed.
Not for me, at least.
