I made my quota, but it was a bit skewed across the stories. I went to the Xbox 360 launch with genedefect and did all of my writing on paper, and I couldn't remember whether I had ended the last scene with A Gift from God, so I worked on Familiar for the last 1,700 words of my quota for the day.
I found I didn't have a pen on me, to my surprise, and went to the Sanrio store to pick up one. (It was handy, I knew it would have a pen, and the mall was about to close - except for the GameStop, of course.) I found one that was relatively plain, no cute characters on it, just black pen with writing along the side - eminently tolerable. Then I get it outside and start writing with it, and realize there are sparkles in the ink.
Anyways, I finished somewhere around half of the ink in the pen, I think. It's looking pretty sad at this point. Which is okay, because while writing with sparkles is great for the novelty, it doesn't look very professional, and I'm not sure how easy it's going to be to read. I do have to get these words into the computer somehow, after all.
Final word counts for today: GG: 43,904. Familiar: 75,789. Total of 3,046 words. Remaining words: 13,029. According to the spreadsheet, I only need to do about 1,450 words a day to finish this off on time. I'm going to bed late tonight, though, so all bets are off on the number of words I can finish tomorrow morning. I'm going to regret this tomorrow.
