[Current Mood |better]

Just over 1,500 words last night, though none this morning... I forgot to turn my alarm clock on. I suppose it gave me more time to sleep, and I AM recovering right now. I'll just have to make it up tonight, I guess.

I finished the tenth volume of D.N.Angel, which, alas, is not the last one. (I seem to be doing this a lot.) Like I need a new series to be following. It's not like Gakuen Alice or Fruits Basket is going to be finishing up any time soon, and the more series I'm following the more likely that at least one of them is going to pull an X/Yami no Matsuei and the author is going to disappear off the face of the planet before finishing their work. And D.N.Angel is in Asuka, which is a magazine I don't own, so it looks like I'm going with the tankoubon for this one.

It actually seemed like it could have been wrapping up... (tsui).

The anime IS out, though, while quite different, so I could finish the series that way. Most anime at least try to put some sort of satisfying ending onto their story, even when, such as in the case of Fruits Basket, they have to chop out sub plots left and right to do it.

I'm getting the feeling that manga that finish are the rarity...

In game news, I'm about at Event 51 of 80ish(?) in SO3, and it's still entertaining. I decided to give up on having Albel in my party, as acting in the private actions the way I would need to in order to get him would make it harder to get Nel's ending, and the last thing I want to do is end up with Sophia. She drives me nuts.

Next is... I should probably do a TRPG. Maybe BM2? SRWa2 is calling my name, but those games are bloody long, and I want to finish SH2 and have a break before SH3 comes out in the US, so I can play it before or alongside genedefect.

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Giving up Albel is not a choice I would typically make, as he is a cosmic force of destruction. On the other hand, I disliked the game, so your mileage may differ significantly.

SRW! :P

RE: Star Ocean, why does Sophia drive you nuts? I've seen a lot of negative opinion about her on various Japanese game boards, but . . .

Hope you feel better soon.

She's whiny, and I don't think they're very compatible. I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with someone that appears to share so few of my interests. Nel does come from a backwater planet and I'm not sure whether they'd be good together in the long run, but she has a decent mix of responsibility and good sense, and I like that.

Umm . . you do realize that it's Fate not you that's going to be spending the rest of his life with her, yes? :P

Though I'm not sure what sort of personality he has.

I know. I was more speaking from the perspective that Fate and Sophia don't seem to share many interests, and meant to draw the comparison that I couldn't see myself living in that kind of a relationship.

Of course, part of this is that fundamentally, I, as the player, see Nel as a more appealing person than Sophia. I'm not too drawn to the 'oh, poor me, I can't survive on my own' type. She's self-centered. Maybe she gets better closer to the end of the game, when Fate finally runs into her again, but the first impression entirely turned me off.

Also, her eyes are way too big. The other characters have eyes that are large, but vaguely in proportion to their age/size. Hers are just flat out huge.

But bug-eyed monsters are sort of part and parcel of the anime genre! Look at CLAMP.

It's interesting to note how much you manage to see things from the character perspective, even if you're not a random peasant villager turned hero.

Oh did the character go missing?

Yeah. She disappears and later you find out that she's been captured by the enemy.
