Read the first manga of Fruits Basket, and it reminded me of the anime. Fruits Basket is a funny story overall... there are sad parts, but overall, the presentation and the story... sukkiri to suru... it refreshes me. I just feel cleaner and more clearheaded after I finish reading it. It's like the exact opposite of Angel Sanctuary, where the sadness and all the bad things are a weight on you. Both stories are good, but they make you feel very different after reading them.

I'm on the second half of the first EVA stage in Super Robot Wars, and the question that comes to my mind is... with the government spending this much on random military groups who have no relation to each other - including a huge standing army (*coughwhichisapushovercough*), a few special task forces, and 20 or so highly funded projects involving 1-5 mechs which are all supposed to individually save the world... where do they get money to have a government? I mean, honestly. And they have to be running out of resources by now.

Then you have the random privately funded ones, like the five Gundams from the colonies and OZ...

My head is beginning to spin. Keeping track of all these stories is crazy.

But a quote:
genedefect:"So why are the EVAs going to join you?"
Me: "Um, because... well, we're fighting aliens. Everyone hates aliens."

It helps if you have basic knowledge of the original storylines from the various anime, since the SRW stages are mostly rearrangements of the component stories.

And besides, what else do governments spend money on, hmm? *looks pointedly at Washington DC*

"...with the government spending this much ... where do they get money to have a government?"

Ah, good to see that the lessons on how to blow through billions of dollars with nothing to show for it that my state rose to an art form hasn't been wasted.
